The move further complicates an already heated battle between 2 competing formats backed by corporate giants: HD DVD promoted by Toshiba, Universal Studios, Intel (INTC) and Microsoft (MSFT) ; and Blu-ray, which is backed by Sony, (SNE) Apple Computer, (AAPL) Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) and Dell.
